Vivosa Apulia Resort harmoniously combines nature, architecture, and hospitality. Located within the Ugento Coastal Natural Park and built with locally sourced tuff stone, the resort reflects the authentic character of Salento through a contemporary architectural design closely connected to the region, its materials, and its cultural heritage.

A lighting design project conceived to enhance materials, architectural forms, and atmosphere.

Developed in collaboration with Lorenzo Bellini Atelier, the lighting design project supported the renovation of the spaces by enhancing their architecture, materials, and identity. Through a tailored lighting approach, the design highlights the verticality of the interiors, the arched niches inspired by traditional Apulian farmhouses, and key architectural details, creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the character of the resort.

Light serves not only a functional purpose but also plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere of the interiors. The niches are enhanced through a balanced combination of direct and indirect lighting, emphasizing their depth and highlighting the texture of the tuff stone and other local materials. The result is a welcoming environment with a discreet lighting scheme seamlessly integrated into the architecture.

Every detail is designed to enhance the character of the place.

The entire lighting concept draws inspiration from the local landscape, reflecting both its rural and coastal character. The lighting has been designed to be soft, layered, and non-intrusive, creating comfortable and welcoming spaces. Each light source is part of a coordinated system aimed at ensuring visual comfort, enhancing the architecture, and delivering an experience that is consistent with the identity of the resort.

Designing light means designing the way people experience spaces.

To complete the project, a series of custom-made lighting fixtures was developed specifically to complement the architectural language of the interiors. The table lamps feature handcrafted ceramic bases in green, powder blue, and deep blue finishes, inspired by the Mediterranean vegetation, sky, and sea of Salento. Paired with fabric shades, they diffuse a warm and soft light, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The iron wall sconces, available in configurations with one, two, or six light sources, serve as both functional fixtures and architectural features. Their indirect light adds rhythm and depth to the walls, creating different lighting scenarios tailored to the needs of each space. Adjustable reading lights complete the system, providing focused illumination and visual comfort while maintaining the overall aesthetic consistency of the project.

The aim of the project was not simply to illuminate the spaces, but to create a lighting experience that accompanies guests throughout their stay, enhancing every architectural detail and material. Light becomes an integral design element, shaping spaces, improving comfort, and guiding perception. Like the sea and the wind surrounding Vivosa Apulia Resort, it plays a key role in defining the unique identity of the place.
