Vendramini has been a landmark store at the Giardini del Sole shopping center in Castelfranco Veneto (TV) since 1993.
Its recent renovation stands out as a rare example of transformation without ever interrupting business. Thanks to meticulous planning and seamless coordination between architects, the client, and skilled craftsmen, the space was redesigned and renewed over five distinct phases in just two years — allowing construction and retail activity to coexist without the store ever closing its doors.
“We never closed for a single day. Our customers followed the renovation with genuine interest, and word of mouth only helped us grow.” (Eugenio Vendramini)
In this project, light becomes the guiding narrative. Nothing is left to chance: the lighting design, created by GLIP in collaboration with Bongiana Architetture, delivers an immersive experience that is both structured and dynamic.
“In the store, light becomes a living element that guides, welcomes, and surprises.” (Arch. Silvia Codato and Pietro Bongiana)

The project is built around lighting themes that evolve over time — shifting with the seasons and with each observer’s perspective. Custom 3500K LEDs, with CRI95 and UGR<19, ensure outstanding color rendering and complete visual comfort. Everything is managed through a DALI control system, delivering maximum flexibility and precision.
At the entrance, the three-meter-high Secret lamp marks the threshold between inside and outside, creating a luminous introduction that sets the stage for the brand’s narrative.

The shop window disappears, and the space takes on a new identity.

In the sophisticated interplay of light, a poetic role is given to the black discs suspended from the ceiling. Slim and almost invisible, they support the lighting system composed of three Gargantua 80 projectors. They fade into the darkness above, helping to dematerialize the technical elements while enhancing the evocative character of the space.
These details reflect the project’s attention to precision and the significance of the unseen. In a retail environment where nothing is left to chance, even what disappears becomes part of the story.

The lighting design places the product at the center. John 80 spotlights with ML3 track systems and Bard Mini profiles are precisely aimed at the display areas, enhancing materials and creating clear visual hierarchies. Along the main aisles, the light follows the rhythm of the steel structures, highlighting the linearity of the space; in the side corners, it illuminates the niches without overwhelming them. The result is an orderly yet dynamic display system, where every item finds its own light.
The lighting is never generic: it directs attention, sparks curiosity, and transforms merchandise into the true protagonist, reinforcing each brand’s identity.

The ceiling is a luminous carpet, rhythmically punctuated by modular lighting fixtures.

A grid of light fixtures creates a continuous luminous carpet — modular and replaceable piece by piece. The use of identical elements, each set at varying angles, establishes a dynamic visual rhythm that guides visitors along their path.
This is light that designs, builds, and suggests. Illumination here is not decoration, but a narrative structure — a visual language that makes the environment clear, coherent, and meaningful.
The dialogue between natural and artificial light.
The renovation seamlessly blended with innovation, creating an aesthetic and functional coherence that reflects respect for the design, the materials, and the environment.
The DALI system enables dynamic adjustments, adapting the space to different needs. This balance produces welcoming, vibrant settings where natural light filters through the courtyards and meets artificial light in a constant interplay — ensuring both harmony and energy efficiency.
